Mussels, great for the summer

The mussel is a typical sea mollusk that knows how to be protagonist in different dishes.
The longest phase for the preparation of the dish is the cleaning of the mollusk fact arm yourself with patience if you have to make a dish like that.

Ingredients for 5 people:

  • 3 kg of mussels

Preparation:

As I said before, the cleaning phase is the longest part where you have to put the mussels in running water and clean the shell of each single mussel and not forget to completely remove the small beard that comes out from the side of each.
Many fishmongers are gearing up to give them already cleaned in order to get home and be ready to cook.
Once cleaned, all you have to do is put them in a saucepan with lid, place a glass of sparkling white wine,mix them occasionally and wait for them to hatch, about 10 minutes on medium low heat.
Many people in the cooking phase put pepper on it but even without the result it is excellent.
At the end of cooking they are ready to be brought to the table because the mussels are already flat.

Tips:

Mussels that do not open must be discarded.
Another use could be to put them in a good pasta, perhaps with tomato or as in the picture adding parsley and tomato.
On the table I can be accompanied by a good white wine like Chardonnay.
